?

It's quarter to 2am on Monday November 16th. I'm really tired but don't want to shut eye just yet. I had a very hectic day at work today but fulfilling. I'm glad I booked a chat on Burma. I'm realizing I can push for issues if I pitch the idea well. Being 'the media' makes you wonder where you belong is this information feeding machine. I mean am I really responsible or is it the powers above who are to blame for media frenzy??

  1. What kind of work are you doing on Burma? I'm interested in the issues there.

  2. Oh, I work at CTV News Channel and we were covering the news on Obama calling for the release of Aung San Suu Kyi and so I booked an interview with Maureen Aung-Thwin who is the director of the Burma Project/Southeast Asia Initiative at the Open Society Institute in New York. I, myself am not doing any work on Burma unfortunately.

  3. Wow, that's amazing. How did you land that job? Why aren't you covering the story? It's really important that more people (in the general public, I mean) are aware and care about such issues.

  4. I'm not a reporter and to be honest I am not sure if I want to be. I do really enjoy my job though.

  5. Not a reporter but I thought you'd be writing the story. I was looking forward to reading it as this is an issue close to heart and I'm always interested in people's views of the situation in Burma. That's cool, though. What is your role then at work? That's great you enjoy it. You don't hear many people say that these days.
